  1. Menurut Gibson, prestasi (performance) dipengaruhi oleh motivasi (motivation) dan kemampuan (ability), sedangkan Miner menambahkan faktor ketiga, yaitu eksternal (external)
  2. Motivasi diketahui dari konsep motivasi Maslow ataupun motivasi berprestasi Mc Clelland
  3. Kemampuan dapat dimilki dengan pendidikan (formal, non formal atau informal), pelatihan da pengalaman
  4. Faktor ekonomi, teknologi, keamanan merupakan faktur eksternal yang mempengaruhi prestasi
  5. Prestasi dapat diukur dari jumlah (quantity), mutu (quality), kerja sama (cooperation) atau kehadiran (absence) guna menentukan produktivitasnya
